Ingredients

  • 1 Tuscan bread loaf
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced pepperoncini, drained
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F. In a small bowl, blend together the softened butter, minced garlic, and chopped parsley.
  • Cut checkerboard slices into the top of the bread, about halfway into the loaf. Then, generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the loaf.
  • Carefully spread apart the cuts and insert slices of provolone cheese, followed by the sliced pepperoncini peppers. Top with mozzarella cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted, opening the foil for the last few minutes to achieve a golden crust.
