Description of Jobs:

Mario’s Butchers cut a wide variety of meats according to our standards and customer preference. Attention to detail is particularly important for Butchers because Mario’s has high standards for product safety, food safety, and associate safety.

Our Butchers are devoted to providing the best customer service and the highest quality product possible. It’s not unusual for one of our Butchers to recommend the best way to prepare a cut of meat, or offer to split a package so that the customer can take home the exact quantity that they want.

Essential Duties:

  • Cuts and prepares all varieties and cuts of meat while operating tools safely.
  • Provides premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
  • Helps sell products by providing customers with information needed to make product-related decisions.
  • Oversees inventory levels and quality control.
  • Helps to verify and unload meat deliveries from trucks.
  • Maintains, fills, and rotates product in meat cases.
  • Moves meat from coolers to cutting area and returns cut meat to coolers.
  • Maintains Mario’s high standards for product guidelines in sanitation, freshness, trimming, and cutting.
  • Ensure health and safety guidelines are met including proper storage of meats.
  • Cleans equipment.
  • Trains other associates as needed.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working as a Butcher or similar role.
  • Familiarity with Meat Department equipment and utensils.
  • Ability to work with and coordinate with a team to ensure success.
  • Able to work in a cold environment for long periods of time.

The Deli Clerk takes care of customer orders as they come up to the counter which could entail making sandwiches, slicing deli meats weighing fresh meats and prepared foods. The position calls for you to be on your feet and moving around the sales counter for your shift, handling of knives and working with a slicing machine as well as plu-style scales.

Qualifications:

  • Deli Clerk should be self-motivated, outgoing and very customer friendly as you will be with that customer from start to finish.
  • Clerk should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in this field of employment.

Our Grocery Clerks (or Stockers) ensure proper presentation of products on store shelves and in cases. They also provide friendly customer assistance within the store. At times, this means temporarily leaving a task to walk a customer to locate a product.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
  • Ensures that products are within date and rotated/displayed appropriately.
  • Assists with unloading product from trucks and organizes stock.
  • Fills products as needed.
  • Cleans cases and shelves, and mop and sweep the sales floor, back room(s), and coolers.
  • Operates back room equipment.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned.

Mario’s Kitchen Staff are self-starters, motivated, and engaged. Responsibilities include Prep, Cooking, and Maintaining a Clean work area.

Qualifications:

  • Experience and Knowledge of Italian food prep and cooking.

Our Cashiers are the most visible associates to our customers, so they play a critical role in providing premier customer service. We rely on them to ensure the correct price is charged for each item sold and provide the correct change to our customers.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
  • Rings-up groceries.
  • Weighs and scans products.
  • Accepts payment and provide change when appropriate.
  • Handles cash and other forms of tender accurately.
  • Bags products when necessary.
  • Maintains a neat and clean register area.
  • Assists in other jobs and duties as assigned.
