Shells with meat filling is a comfort food classic, stuffing tender shells with a mixture of beef, cheese and breadcrumbs, coated in sauce and baked to perfection.

Prep time 15 Min | Cook Time 25 Min | Serves 6 – 8

Ingredients

  • 1 box Jumbo Shells (12 oz)
  • 1 lb extra lean Ground Round
  • 1/4 cup White Onion, minced
  • 3/4 cup Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Romano Cheese
  • 1 Egg, slightly beaten
  • Fine Sicilian Sea Salt, to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper, to taste
  • Chopped Fresh Parsley, to taste
  • 3 cups All Purpose Pasta Sauce

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350˚F and cook shells according to package directions.
  • Sauté ground beef in a medium sauce pan until browned, approximately 5-7 minutes, then add onion and cook for another minute.
  • Remove from heat, drain liquid and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix breadcrumbs, cheese, salt, pepper, egg and parsley.
  • Add meat and onion, mix until thoroughly combined.
  • Spread 1 cup of sauce on the bottom of a baking dish or pan.
  • Stuff shells with meat filling, place in dish and cover with remaining sauce.
  • Bake for 25 minutes, let cool 5 minutes before serving. Serves 6-8.
