Prep Time 10 Min | Cook Time 20 Min | Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 2 tsp fine sea salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 4 slices pepper jack cheese
- 1/2 cup spicy arrabbiata sauce
- 4 sirloin burger patties
- 1/4 cup sliced hot cherry peppers
- 4 brioche burger buns
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 cup arugula
Directions
- Rub the sirloin burger patties with olive oil, then season each side with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Let the patties rest at room temperature while you preheat your skillet or grill.
- If you are using a skillet that fits only two patties at a time, cook in two batches. Heat the skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the first two burgers for about 4 to 5 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of at least 160°F. Set the patties aside and keep warm while you cook the remaining two patties.
- In the final minute of cooking each batch, place a slice of pepper jack cheese on each patty. Cover the skillet with a lid or foil to help the cheese melt evenly.
- Lightly toast the brioche buns in a dry skillet, toaster oven, or on the grill until golden and crisp.
- To assemble the burgers, spread a spoonful of warm arrabbiata sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Add the cheesy burger patty, then top with tomato slices, arugula, and a generous spoonful of sliced hot cherry peppers.
- Finish with the top bun (add more sauce if desired), then serve immediately with your favorite sides.
- Enjoy!
