Prep Time 5 Min | Cook Time 25 Min | Serves 4
Ingredients
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup light mayo
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp basil, chopped
- 1 lb steak burgers
- 4 ciabatta rolls
- 4 slices prosciutto
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup arugula
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
Directions
- In a frying pan over medium heat, fry the slices of prosciutto until they become crispy. Set aside.
- Add olive oil spray to the same frying pan, then sauté the sliced onion over medium heat. Add a pinch of salt for flavor. Cook for about 5 minutes until the onion is slightly caramelized.
- Move the onions aside and add the burger patties to the same pan. Increase the heat to medium-high and cook the burgers for about 3 minutes per side until they reach an internal temperature of at least 145°F.
- Turn off the heat, then top each burger with 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese. Cover the pan with a lid to melt the cheese.
- Combine the mayo and lemon juice in a small bowl. Grate in the two garlic cloves and stir in the basil. In a separate bowl, combine the arugula, red wine vinegar, and a pinch of salt. Spread the aioli onto each ciabatta roll, then assemble the burgers in the following order: bottom bun, burger patty, prosciutto, onions, arugula, and top bun.
- Enjoy!
