Pork Steaks with Mushroom Sauce
Pork Steaks with Mushroom Sauce Ingredients (4 Servings)
- 4 pork steaks, 3/4” thick
- 1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
- 4 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp. garlic, crushed
- 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp. dried rosemary
- Sea salt, to taste
Directions:
Heat 2 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté them until onions are golden and translucent; about 2 minutes.
Add the chopped mushrooms to the pan and sprinkle the ingredients with the sea salt and fresh ground pepper, and paprika.
Continue sautéing the ingredients until the mushrooms are browned; about 5 minutes.
Remove the mushroom and onion mixture from the pan and set aside.
Season the pork steaks with the sea salt, fresh ground pepper, and paprika.
Add the remaining 2 tbsp. of extra virgin olive oil to the pan and allow it to get hot.
Add the pork steaks and brown them for about 2 minutes on each side.
Then add the cup of chicken broth and dried rosemary to the pan and bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low and cover the pan.
Allow the ingredients to cook for an additional 15 minutes, flipping the pork steaks halfway through.
Uncover the pan and return the mushroom mixture to the pan.
Turn the heat up to medium-high and cook the ingredients for an additional 2 minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat and place the pork chops on a serving platter or individual plates.
Top the pork steaks with the mushroom sauce from the pan and serve.
Buon Appetito!
